While UCL Energy Group remains focused on the production, trading, and supply of oil and gas, we are actively engaged in energy transition initiatives such as EV charging, bioenergy, and renewables. Our offshore wind investments follow a capital-light approach, with strong emphasis on competitive returns and strategic partnerships to leverage shared expertise and attract external financing.
In late 2024, UCL Energy Group announced plans to enter a global joint venture to advance offshore wind development. Once regulatory approvals are secured, this collaboration will combine operating assets and development projects across Asia Pacific, Europe, and North America, targeting a total net generating capacity of up to 13 gigawatts (GW).
As of Q4 2024, UCL Energy Group’s offshore wind pipeline stands at 9.7 GW net, with major developments and alliances across leading renewable energy markets worldwide.

Seabed Surveying
Every offshore wind project starts with critical seabed assessments. In the Irish Sea, specialized vessels and expert crews have been conducting detailed surveys to support UCL Energy Group and its partner in designing efficient offshore wind farms. These studies are key to optimizing turbine placement while minimizing environmental impact.
Measuring Offshore Conditions
UCL Energy Group is conducting a two-year data collection campaign in the Irish Sea to measure wind and wave conditions. This data will guide the design of turbines and substations for our offshore wind projects. At the heart of this effort are advanced Seawatch® LIDAR buoys, equipped with cutting-edge sensors.
