Renewables and Power

Disciplined investment in the Transition

UCL Energy Group primarily produces, trades, and supplies oil and gas, while also advancing transition activities such as electric vehicle (EV) charging, bioenergy, and renewables. Although these sustainable ventures currently represent a smaller portion of our business, they are vital to our long-term strategy. We pursue renewable energy in a capital-efficient manner, focusing on strong returns through strategic partnerships and leveraging external financing.

Unlocking Value

Global electricity demand is projected to rise by nearly one-third by 2035, led by emerging markets like India and China. In regions such as the US, the growing number of data centers will further drive this demand.

UCL Energy Group aims to unlock value through focused investments in renewable and power platforms supplying clean electrons that can be used to generate hydrogen, reduce emissions across our operations, and power electric vehicle (EV) charging as well as renewables trading.

By the end of Q4 2024, our renewable energy pipeline reached 60.6 gigawatts (GW).

What is a GW?
1 gigawatt = 1,000 megawatts = 1 billion watts, a key unit used to measure the scale of renewable energy projects.

In Action: Offshore Wind

UCL Energy Group is set to expand its offshore wind ambitions.

Pending regulatory and other necessary approvals, this venture aims to become one of the world’s top five offshore wind developers, with a potential total net generating capacity of up to 13 gigawatts (GW).

In Action: Onshore Renewables Solar

UCL Energy Group is actively pursuing strategic partnerships to enhance the growth of its solar and battery storage platform. Building on a proven foundation of strong performance and double-digit returns, our goal is to expand our presence as a leading force in global solar energy.
